I graduated from Rogue Community College in 1997 with a nursing degree and worked as a critical care nurse at Three Rivers Community Hospital and the Cardiac Care Unit at Rogue Valley Medical Center. In working in the coronary care unit, I became aware that some illness could have been prevented. I decided to become a nurse practitioner to teach people how to become healthier. I attended the Baccalaureate Nursing program at Oregon Health and Sciences University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004. I attended Western University of Health Sciences and graduated with Highest Honors receiving a Master of Science and Family Nurse Practitioner degrees in 2006. Upon graduation, I worked in family practice and urgent care. I established Satori Wellness in September of 2010. Satori is a Zen expression meaning to awaken. In June of 2012, I was the first solo nurse practitioner in Oregon to achieve tier 3 of the Patient Centered Primary Care Home through the Oregon Health Authority. A Patient-Centered Primary Care Home is a health clinic that is recognized for their commitment to patient-centered care.
